Designed With the Seniors in Mind
Just Putt'n Around was created by Bill Perry in October 2007. The purpose was simple, bring the enjoyment of golf and the "Art of Putting" indoors to the Active Adult Communities. With Bill's teaching skills and ability to interact with seniors like himself, it was a natural fit. The Just Putt'n Around program included: putters, golf balls, "Face 2 Face" interaction, instruction, games and prizes while providing the residents with an additional activity to keep fit and busy year round.
While visiting the adult communities, Bill found that many residents were not able to stand for long periods of time and needed to use wheelchairs and rolling walkers to get around their community. The question then became, how to teach them putting if they couldn't stand up? A "Rolling Walker" was purchased and the 1st Active Adult Putter was designed to meet active seniors' needs. Bill still teaches from the walker.
The business continues to grow daily and has gone in many different directions. We are currently "Fun" teaching in large and small Active Adult Communities. In addition we are meeting the needs of rehabilitation facilities and working with the military. This has added a new dimension, a diversity of needs in putters. We have added 3 new putters this year: The Mini, The Side Saddle and The Maxi. With each addition, we find new needs that must be addressed.
